This workshop is for anyone desiring to understand fundamental, digital photography editing concepts and how to apply them. Key concepts to be covered include: Workflow and Filetypes Histograms and Tone Curves Color: Temperature and Tint Tone: Exposure and Contrast Presence: Clarity, Vibrancy, and Saturation Sharpening, Noise Reduction, and Vignette And more Please note, this is a hands-on workshop. Attendees are heavily encouraged to bring a camera and a laptop with image editing software, preferably Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Don't have Lightroom and/or Photoshop? Get a free trial for the workshop. Attendees will also receive a custom Adobe Lightroom preset pack.

This workshop is for anyone looking to learn the basics of studio photography. You'll learn: How to use your camera in a studio setting How to use studio lights properly Use of light modifiers such as an umbrella, softbox, snoot, and beauty dish Use of main light, fill light, hair light and background light Basics of posing a subject Using hard light and soft light How to create a headshot Please note: this is a hands-on workshop. To fully participate, you'll need to bring a DSLR camera. You will have the opportunity to shoot in studio with feedback and direction. You will also have the opportunity to have your headshot taken. This class is limited to 12 participants.

Our first fundamentals course sold out, so we're bringing it back! This workshop is designed for anyone desiring to grasp the fundamentals of photography. We'll cover: The exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) White balance Shooting modes Composition Histograms Focal Length and more. This is a hands-on workshop, so you'll want to bring your DSLR camera and an eagerness to learn. You owe it to yourself and your camera to move that dial from auto mode. Meet Your Instructors Based in Norfolk, Richards works in commercial film production, photojournalism/documentary photography and multimedia production. His work has ranged from coverage of the White House in DC to conflict zones around the world, including the disintegration of Yugoslavia, the civil wars in Nicaragua, the US invasion of Panama, the guerrilla and narco-conflict in Colombia, political and social issues in Haiti and Peru, and the search for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Jared Beasley is the founder of 757 Collective and serves as the Creative Director at Istoria, a full-service digital marketing agency based in downtown Norfolk, VA. Jared's portfolio includes commercial photography and videography work for local companies, non-profit organizations, and national brands. Personally, Beasley enjoys shooting conceptual and landscape photography. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, a Master of Business Administration, and Master of Communication.
